“Yummy
breakfast”
Found this the last week of our vacation and ate here twice. Different
choices, like almond crepes, and the best bacon and home fries around.
Friendly service. Told my dad about it, and he also ate here more than
once on his trip. He also enjoyed lunch.

"Vacation Hot Spot"
Go early or late for breakfast or lunch and never on Sunday. The special
home fries are great as is the Crabby Benny and other seafood
breakfasts. They also have the usual 2 eggs and toast! Small parking lot
and waiting line stretches out into it. most of the time. People
friendly some locals and tourists.

“My Favorite
Breakfast on The Cape”
I went to the Red Cottage thinking it would be a regular breakfast place
but what I got was My Favorite Breakfast on my whole trip. The Pumpkin
Pancake was great so was the Waffle with Cinnamon Sugar Glaze. This
Breakfast is one you can't miss!!!

“Great Breakfast @ The Red Cottage”
I had seen reviews for this place on the site, and went this past
Saturday while in the Cape for the weekend. It is every bit as wonderful
as everyone said it was! Thanks! The Red Cottage home fries were
excellent! Can't wait to have them again. We did have to wait about 15
minutes-small place-but so worth it!

“Best Breakfast Place on the Cape”
This place is fantastic and worth trip to find it. The food is excellent
with a very diverse menu including healthy choices. You have to try the
Red Cottage Home Fries. They include everything but the kitchen sink
but taste great.
The staff is friendly & very accommodating. My party was late for a
tee time the and the place was full. The waitress took our orders while
waiting in line and offered us coffee. By the time our table was ready
our food was served and we were on time for golf. You can't beat that.
We have eaten at many of the local spots and many are very good.
The Red Cottage is the Best!

"One of the best breakfast places on the Cape!"
Chevre & Chive egg
scramble is one of my favorites. And their bacon. Oh, and their are AMAZING! They told us of the arduous process that takes a
long time to make these potato bites of gold, and the result is
definitely worth it. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked. They also
make their own hash from scratch. The Hubby loves their Crabby Benny,
which he highly recommends (crab cakes in an Eggs Benedict). And the
coffee and fresh squeezed OJ are just the thing to get you going. There
are weekly/daily specials as well, such as Pumpkin Pancakes (yum!) or
Blueberry Coffeecake.
Plus, with a place that can get hopping but still has great service and
friendly staff easily makes this one of my favorite spots. Regulars
have their names on coffee mugs...and all the mugs are mismatched,
giving it a feel of grabbing a cup from a house, not a restaurant. The
interior is cozy and features antique food-related pieces as well as
historic pictures of the Dennis area. Breakfast is served up until 2pm and there are lunch options as well,
which I have yet to try. Their breakfast is just too good. Just remember
to bring cash...they don't take credit cards.

"YUM!"
Had the chevre and chive scramble. light fluffy eggs, delicious
creamy goat cheese, fresh chives. perfect. the caramelized onion omelet
that Chris had was amazing! apple maple sausage, caramelized onions,
vermont cheddar - sweet and savory. home fries really good too. didn't
upgrade to he red cottage home fries, so not sure what those are like,
but the regular ones were great. it's hard to find the perfect home
fries, not too mushy, but crispy, but not too crispy. these were right
one. great brown parts, onions, etc. coffee was decent. service was
nice. packed even on a Wed late morning in the off season. will
definitely be back, adding to my routine cape breakfast choices!

After a disappointing week of seeking great breakfast food on the Cape,
Red Cottage finally hit the spot. My wife ordered the carmelized onion
omelet which was delicious. I had what I think was called the 'cottage
breakfast' which was 2 eggs, 2 pieces of applewood smoked bacon, 2
pieces of apple maple sausage, home fries, and toast. Everything was
excellent. The coffee was great and the waitress (whose face beared a
strong resemblance to Hayden Panettiere) was friendly and never allowed
my coffee cup to get below half full. There were specials of the day
and great sounding other items on the menu and if I am ever back that
way I'll be sure to return. My one bit of feedback from them- update
the interior a bit- with a bit of updating the interior could look as
great as the outside and the food!

My husband's family has a summer home in Dennis. Our annual trek to the
Cape includes at least one breakfast at this place. My kids can't get
enough Cinnamon Bun French Toast and the Maple Sausage, Carmelized
Onion, Vermont Cheddar omlette is to die for. They have healthy
options, too, but why not take a vacation from calorie counting while
you're on vacation!

"What a great place in the winter!"
I'm not sure what it's like in the summer, but when it's just the locals, it's a great, American place to have breakfast or lunch. At diners, there's often not as much gradation of quality. But Red Cottage clearly uses superior ingredients to good effect. The meat sides are all strong, but stick with their recommendation and get country ham on the bone. And if $1.95 extra for special home fries seems excessive, consider that they'll be transformed from a dry side to the centerpiece of the meal.
Very friendly staff, though I'd suspect that it's not quite as efficient in the summer. -John B. from Newark, DE |
